Yellowstone, incredible colors
Yellowstone, incredible colors

In the northwest of the United States, Yellowstone is a caldera or valley that has remained after the explosion of a giant volcano. Some 642,000 years ago. And 138 years ago, in 1872, it became the first national park in the world.
It has almost 9,000 km 2 and there are brown bears, black bears, bison, uapiti deer, elk, etc. But the most spectacular and famous of Yellowstone are its geothermal phenomena.
It has about 200 geysers and 10,000 thermal springs, 60% of the world known. And the hot spot under Yellowston is still active. In the last 50 years it has risen about 70 cm above sea level.

Through Geyser, there are periodically jets of several meters of height based on txistu. And the minerals that precipitate in the springs form curious structures. In many sources you can see colors that are hard to believe: red, green, yellow... They are pigments of the bacteria that inhabit it, which together with the intense blue color that takes the water in some wells create fascinating landscapes, almost incredible.
