This is a big controversy, but researchers at the Louisiana State University have found a competitor to the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs. According to their researchers, about 40% of the species that remained at sea 380 million years ago disappeared, and American researchers believe that due to the impact of a meteorite. The remains of the collision have been found in present-day Morocco.
Other paleontologists, however, do not believe that at that time so many species disappeared and, in any case, 40% do not consider it as mass extinction. According to them, the situation of the time must be framed within a longer term pattern.
