Lasker Awards Given

This year's Lasker Awards have already been awarded. Five awards have been awarded divided into three categories. In the basic research section, James E. Rothman and Randy W. Sheckman has been awarded for researching a group of proteins that move vesicles inside the cell.
In the clinical research section, Willen J. Koff and Belding H. The award was given to Scribner doctors, who devised kidney dialysis and developed the necessary tools to be able to use it constantly. James E. Special Progress Category Award Researcher Darnell has collected it because, among other things, he helped explain how RNA works and how molecular communication occurs between cells.
The award is given by the American foundation Albert and Mary Woodard Lasker. They first took place at the end of World War II in 1946. Today they are highly regarded, as many of the award-winning scientists have recently received the Nobel Prize.
