Public image of chemistry. Round table discussion

Chemistry generates confidence and distrust in the public. Trust, because it is the basis of the advances of modern science, and distrust, for the problems that chemistry itself has generated. This situation has been highlighted by three UPV/EHU researchers when they have been asked to speak on the subject of the public image of chemistry. On the occasion of the celebration of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, we ask you to make this reflection. The researchers affirm that in the face of this situation, society should be educated in scientific culture. However, education will hardly be stronger than the messages issued by the media, and in them there is everything.
