Researchers from the University of Bologna and the University of Wisconsin have just unraveled the "secret" of some stars that maintain their youthful appearance. Blue stragglers, though older, are warmer and brighter than expected, meaning they look like younger stars. Astronomers have seen that this youth is due to the surrounding stars. In fact, it seems that these stars absorb hydrogen from the surrounding stars through mass transfer and collisions between the stars.
