The life expectancy of people affected by the AIDS virus is directly related to the treatment that has been applied to them from the beginning. Knowledge of the treatment used at the time of the onset of HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus has been considered a determining factor in understanding the dynamics of AIDS mortality in recent years.

The most effective treatment is considered to be based on the mixture of two antivirals: among patients who have used this treatment since its inception, the number of deaths has decreased by 38% since 1992. However, in the case of those who have only used an antiviral drug, the trend of mortality has been maintained, increasing.

These data have been released by a group of British researchers. The team has investigated new AIDS treatments and different levels of efficacy have been detected between patients who have received combined and simple treatment. The key is to promote the combination of remedies at the time the disease appears.
