The PSA team of the French company Peugeot and Citroën has been preparing better night visibility systems for motorists for years.
One of them is based on thermal cameras in cars. So far this technology has been mainly used by military. The camera receives infrared rays at a wavelength of 8-12 micrometers. The received signal immediately becomes an electrical signal and the black and white image appears on the screen. This screen shows images of pedestrians, animals or "hot" vehicles.
The scope of the camera is greater than that of the car lights and also the camera has a very good resolution. Disregards visible light, headlights or lamps.
