Wheat straw and recycled paper as a source of biocomposites

The INNOBITE project aims to convert wheat straw and recycled paper into products for use in the construction sector. This is the extraction of lignin and cellulose from wheat straw and recycled paper from cellulose nanofibers. These products will later be used as polymer additives to generate high performance materials. The final result will be the compartment separation panels and the materials used in the production of cover profiles. With this research project, Tecnalia seeks to convert part of urban and agricultural waste into high-performance products for the construction sector.
