Giant Causeway

The Giant's Causeway is located on the northern coast of Ireland in County Antrim. According to Irish mythology, this unique driveway was built by the warrior Finn MacCool. It seems that he fell in love with a woman who lived in Scotland and decided to build a driveway in the sea to reach his arms.
Geologists have a very different argument to explain the origin of these structures. The 40,000 stone columns that make up the Giant's Causeway were born 65 million years ago as a result of volcanic activity.
The hexagonal shape of columns is a consequence of abrupt cooling of lava. The lava penetrated through the cracks of the ground and when encountering the sea water cooled. This cooling caused the crystallization of lava and crystallization, fractures in the form of a column. Most are hexagonal, but there are also five, seven and eight sides.

However, it cannot be denied that the road may seem human. Dublin researchers also studied this possibility in 1692 when they discovered the road and tried to explain its origin.
