Melting snow reinforces waterfalls

In Iceland, at this time of year, winter snow is melted and the surface ice layer of glaciers has begun to melt, so due to flooding of rivers and streams of water. The largest and most prestigious is Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall). Located on the Hvita River, it collects the waters of the ice sheets of the Langjokull and Hofsjokull glaciers, east of Iceland. From April to September, the river shows all its strength.

To become aware of the enormous dimension of the waterfall, just look at people in the form of ants on the rock to the left of the upper jump. The second jump falls 30 m to a narrow canyon of 2.4 km in length.
