This tool offers the user translations or compensations of a word in Basque or Spanish in the other language, that is, in Spanish or Basque respectively. The user can select this word in the text itself or search it in the special query window. It works on computers with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT operating system installed. The dictionary query is integrated into the Microsoft Word 2000 application. To access the Internet it is necessary to have installed Internet Explorer, since this program uses its settings.

Elhuyar Hiztegia is able to translate words in Basque and Spanish. Therefore, if you will offer the payment of a word in the text, it must be the word of one of those two languages. In the word processor, first of all, you must indicate the language of the text, and when it is Basque or Spanish, our tool can give translations.

Translation options Translation options

Once the language is installed and selected, this tool will offer us two ways of use:

Make a quick query of the word as it is written or read: the user will use this option when he wants to know the translation of the current word as he is reading or writing. To do this just press on the word with the right mouse button. You will see that the pop-up menu that appears by default in the word processor has been added the Elhuyar option. On this option the mouse is placed and next, under the option More information... will appear the slogans of that word, each with its category in parentheses. To see the compensations corresponding to a pair of rudder category the mouse is placed on it.

Query window option: if the writer wants more information about the word he is reading or writing (analyze the environment, examples...), you can take advantage of this option. Two types of consultations can be carried out in the consultation window:

• Possibility to analyze the phrase: starting from the word that the user is analyzing, the user can analyze translations of words of the environment, moving with arrows of word and phrase. The current word will be indicated in blue.
• Consult the option: this way you can consult any word, write the word in the text box and press the Back button. The user must choose the meaning of the translation (from Basque to Spanish or Spanish to Basque).

In both cases, the slogans found for the word analyzed will be saved in the bottom list box (the number of slogans found will appear in parentheses). A slogan will be selected and the corresponding categories will be updated in the bottom list (the number will also appear in parentheses). **********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

In addition to consulting, you can insert in the text the chosen compensation. To do this, press the Move button to the text. If the user clicks this button in the Review phrase option, it will replace the word in blue with the word in blue, while if you click on the Query option, it will do so after the word being analyzed.

If we want more information about the word, we can press the Web button and access the Elhuyar website. If we have not selected any words in the Word text, you will see the main page of the dictionary on the Internet. Otherwise, this tool will allow us to see in the Internet dictionary the additional information of the selected word.
