Researchers at the University of Bristol have identified the original colors of dinosaurs by analyzing fossilized pigments.

Researchers have found melanosomes in dinosaur fossils and primitive birds. Melanosomes are organelles with melanin pigment and are found in the skin, hair and feathers. Two types of melanosomes have been found, eumelanosomes and feomelanosomes, which are responsible for the grayish black and brown color respectively. The structures without melanosomes, on the other hand, would be white, according to the researchers.
