In southern England 32 stone tools have been found, dated 700,000 years ago. Therefore, Homo antecessor or Homo heidelbergensis would be its authors. According to experts, those hominids arrived on the continent when the climate was mild and, as Britain was linked to the continent, they returned to the continent in cold times.
