It is known that the greenhouse effect is increasing due to the decrease in tropical rainforests. A British company, to start reforestation in various parts of the world, has begun to produce a large number of strong and healthy trees.
The method used to do this is based on the fact that certain plant cells can produce, under appropriate conditions, a seeable and susceptible to cultivation.
Thus, the choice of disease-free cells allows its cultivation at any time of the year. Therefore, the advantages are total. In addition, reforestation programs take into account excessive amounts of trees, so it is not possible to use seeds.
The first thing done in this new method is to separate the cells from the root end or stem. Subsequently, these cells grow in a special food medium. Then the stem grows, which can be planted and stored in a bench.
The English company Novalal has 300 samples (from grain to tree) in its bank and is the largest deposit of plant genetic material in the world. At this time the role of the company is developed in three areas.
On the one hand, in the production of hardwood trees for revegetation programs; on the other, in the production of citrus, fruit and tropical nuts for the food sector; and finally, in the production of eucalyptus and fir for the paper industry. Also noteworthy is the production of useful plants in medicine.
