The magazine "New England Journal of Medicine" published two American investigations on April 16. According to these studies, the risk of physical damage is reduced by 25% when an accident occurs in vehicles with inflatable bags.
These sacks are also placed around the steering wheel. The sacks are inflated to 26 milliseconds from the frontal collision.
In a study conducted by the US Institute of Insurance for a private company, it was found that the mortality rate was 28% lower than in cases where there were no inflatable bags. It was also observed that the mortality rate in unconfronted accidents was 19% lower.
According to the same institute, inflatable bags reduce the rate of injuries by 25% / 29%.
These results are quite representative and it is expected that the law of mandatory packing of bags is approved in all cars produced before time.
In Europe this problem is not so clear, because the cars would be very expensive. Although at the moment "Mercedes" offers them, "Renault" and other companies have only intentions.
