Photo of the week: health linked to the level of energy transition

A study has shown that the growing disparities between European cities in terms of air pollution are closely linked to the socio-economic level and the degree of development of the country's energy transition. Those who are lagging behind in the implementation of the energy transition have a higher level of air pollution and, consequently, a higher health risk.

According to scientists, the transition to renewable energy is key to preventing the progression of pollution-related diseases. The high degree of implementation of renewable energies reduces air pollution by 15-54% and associated diseases by 12-53%.
