Low European awareness on the recycling of electric-electronic devices
01/01/2008 | Elhuyar
According to a study by the University of the United Nations (UNU) for the European Commission, only 25% and 40% of the large European appliances are collected for recovery and recycling. For electronic devices and small appliances (hair dryers, mp3 readers, etc.) these figures are worse. Although there are exceptions, its degree of recycling is close to 0%. According to the report, these low collection rates are largely due to poor consumer awareness.
