Batteries 10 times longer

PC World magazine has published that MTI Fuel Cells has invented a battery that uses methanol as fuel. The new battery can be very suitable for mobile phones and laptops, as it can multiply its autonomy.

The battery is the size of a card and when it runs out of charge you have to change a small cartridge. The first will be charging accessories for current lithium batteries and will be marketed in 2004. Motorola, Hitachi and Toshiba are also preparing similar prototypes, while Casio, in two years, wants to market conventional methanol batteries.
