Rhinos in the air
They were sedated, blindfolded, and suspended from their legs, 19 black rhinos were transported by helicopter by members of the WWF in South Africa. This is the best way that rhinos have found to suffer as little as possible during transportation on rough terrain. There were about ten minutes of flights to the place where the trucks were waiting. And from there by truck, from Eastern Cape, to Limpopo, 1,500 km in total.
Since the Black Rhino Expansion Project began in 2004, approximately 120 rhinos have been transported. At first, everything was done by truck, or by helicopter, wrapped in nets. But all the veterinarians involved in the project believe that it is much better to carry them in the air tied by their faucets: it avoids walking in the truck on rough terrain, as well as breathing problems with nets; it is easier to take those who have fallen into difficult places due to sedatives and even faster.
