Although it mostly concerns us as an aesthetic problem, dandruff is a skin condition that affects 20% of
the population. The new skin, as it grows, pushes the epidermal cells out until they die and fall into tiny scales. that the dandruff is caused by the overproduction of a fungus that lives on the skin. This fungus feeds on human fat and alters the natural renewal of the cells.
For its treatment, anti-dandruff shampoos use two routes: some contain coal tar, a substance that prevents the division of cells, while others prevent the reproduction of the fungus through the use of antifungals such as selenium sulfide or ketoconazole.
