Teknopolis has received an award in the Telenatura competition
Telenatura is an International Television Festival that promotes the dissemination and care of nature. It is jointly organized by the University of Navarre and the Pamplona Planetarium, and this is its 10th edition.
The first prize for the best report has been awarded to the monograph "Stalatan" made by us. In this work, which we did at the end of the previous season, we tracked four species of animals: cetaceans, aphids, the brown vulture and the brown bear. We met with researchers dedicated to the care and knowledge of animals to see how the research of these species was carried out in the field. For this, we visited the waters of Bermeo, Aralar, the Pyrenees of Huesca and the Somiedo Natural Park in Asturias.
Bienvenido León; Director of Telenatura
"Those of us who work in the telenature have two goals. We work to make television a tool for environmental education. We think television can do a lot more than just entertain.”
"With the help of the films that are presented to the competition, we shout that we can still do a lot to know and respect the environment and nature."
"It was a very good level. 105 films from 21 countries have been presented. In terms of origin, there has been a great abundance. Not only have the big producers or the big TVs of the world come... they have also been small and amateur producers."
"Your report has been highly rated by the jury. He has an impeccable narrative, a great storytelling skill and, in addition, a hard work behind the scientists, a meticulous productive work has been done."
Inma Alvarez; Elhuyar Foundation
"Our goal at the time of reporting was to observe the work of those who did the most observation, that is, to follow up on their work. To do this, we wanted to cover three areas to cover the widest possible area: earth, sea and sky. And we chose the animals taking into account the objectives of this observation, on the one hand, the care and, on the other, the management and the care itself."
Bienvenido León; Director of Telenatura
"Unfortunately, finding reports with a lot of productive work is not easy. Too often there is a tendency to make a quick report: take four images and edit them. In this case, it’s a very well done report, both in terms of the report and the script.”
[Nagore Rementeria; Elhuyar Foundation].
"We, with our work accomplished, came quite satisfied. We went twice to try to see these cetaceans, especially to record them, and we didn't see any specimens; not even a sad episode, not even a sad ditch, it was a pretty bad day."
Jungle Palace; Elhuyar Foundation.
“We were really lucky, we spent two days in the Somiedo Nature Park and we saw bears in two days.”
are you guys living? Come on two guys, two guys... All right!-
"It is true that in the last period the population increase has been significant, so now in certain areas, with waiting times, it is easier to see bears, but nevertheless we realize that, although the situation has improved, the images obtained by us have a great value, and we have returned with the material we wanted, and very satisfied."
Iñaki Leturia; Elhuyar Foundation
"We went to count the entries, to report those who count them, and we used hunters' techniques to count the entries. He was very curious. We had to take into account where the wind was blowing, to approach it, to count the entries and their characteristics, to see and point out what kind of branches they had. Then you realize how these images you see on TV, these nature documentaries are made, and how much work they provide."
Bienvenido León; Director of Telenatura
"More and more sophistication is being used to take images, to take moving images very close to the animal, to take aerial plans that will be displayed at a slow speed... The technology helps a lot, as well as the ways of capturing images. Whatever it is, it's basically a patient job, waiting for things to happen in front of the camera. That’s the fascination of this kind of program.”
