[Bats: in search of the culprit of the coronavirus]

Experts believe that the biological origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is the infected virus from bats. This idea is most likely, but it is not fully proven to be so. Joxerra Aihartza, a zoologist from the UPV/EHU, is cautious; in his opinion, we do not know the viruses of many animals, so the idea cannot be assured. In any case, Aihartza is clear about why zoonotic processes have been facilitated in today’s globalized world. Now he fears that the scientists themselves will infect the bat species here with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
