The Kanak

Wrinkles and white hair are signs that time has passed in our body. when the 50 years are approaching, the human hair loses its color that it has had for years and begins to turn blue. This is because the hair begins to lose pigment.
Whether brown, yellow or black, the hair color is caused by a pigment called melanin, which in different proportions gives different colors. Gray also has some melanin, but not as much as the rest. White hair is hair without pigment.
The pigment is produced by cells called melanocytes. They're under the skin, at the base of the hair. These cells are genetically programmed to produce a certain amount of pigment at a certain age. As time goes on, they produce less and less pigment, and the hair turns blue. From a certain age, the cells will die and stop producing melanin altogether. The hair will then be completely bleached.
It can take up to 10 years after the first appearance of white hair until the hair is completely bleached. Some find their first white hair at age 30, others at age 50, others at age 20, and a few have a strand of white hair from birth. When you have white hair, only genes know it, because it is genetically programmed, but stress and some diseases can also cause hair to turn blue.
