The seabed in agony

The seabed is dying. This is the conclusion reached by the members of the Bentos research group of the University of the Basque Country. Scientists have studied the seabed for decades and found that the algae forests that were abundant years ago are being dismantled. The deterioration of biodiversity in the suction cup is due to factors related to climate change. However, in some areas the situation has improved. In the Abra estuary, as the water cleans, the communities of the suction cups have recovered.
