ITP will manufacture engines for medium-sized aircraft
ITP will take part in the production of engines for medium aircraft with the American company Pratt & Whitney.
CARLOS ALZOLA; ITP: We will participate in the design of the components, we will supply the components throughout the life of the engine. In this case, the aviation engines have a very long life, they are produced for about 20 years and the last engine flies for another 20 years. We will also do maintenance.
Geared Turbofan engine for A320 aircraft
CARLOS ALZOLA; ITP: Basically, the aircraft engine operates by taking air and expelling it quickly backwards. It generates momentum, and the plane flies. The engine for this purpose comprises a compressor and a turbine. In order to be efficient and low noise, the compressor must be as large and slow as possible. Turbines as fast as possible. It is necessary to seek a balance between the two, and in the case of this engine a reducer box between the two has been the solution, innovation. One can rotate faster than the other
ITP will invest more than 100 million euros
it is expected to cost more than $2,500
CARLOS ALZOLA; ITP: We will produce more than one type of ingredients from two families. The first family includes structural components of the engine, housings and the like. The second family includes external elements. The engine is surrounded by a wide variety of elements for conducting fluids: oil, fuel, air... In reality, the elements taken individually are not complex, the whole set gives complexity to the work and the number of components.
