An effort to protect the Gothic plants

The rate of disappearance of plants has been accelerated by human action by 500 times. If we continue at the same pace, the future of plants that are common in mountains, forests and fields is threatened. In the last 250 years, 600 species of plants have been lost. Mountain environments are particularly vulnerable to the changes that global warming will bring. Plants that are at the limit of their longevity, if necessary, will not be able to thrive. That is why it is important to study these plants. An extensive Pyrcaseed research project has been set up to identify the plants of the Pyrenees and Cantabrian Highlands and to preserve the seeds. Teknopolis participates in an excursion to the natural park of Aitzgorr-Aratz for the collection of plants.
