The Dragonfly

The dragonfly called Leucorrhinia lives in peatlands in swampy environments composed of water and decomposing plant matter. As it flies, it lays its eggs on the surface of the water, and the larva, for its good development, has the indispensable cold water of the peatlands.

As a result of climate change, many species of dragonflies have been forced to expand their area of life, 80 km further north. But peatlands cannot extend beyond protected areas, so the progressive increase in temperature can lead to further delimitation of the leucorrhini habitat.
