Goodbye, Comet Ison

Comet Ison approaches the Sun and dissolves. For a moment, it didn’t seem to disappear completely, because part of it passed the perihelion, but in the end it has completely dissolved.

The sun has had a remarkable visitor: Comet Ison, from the confines of the Solar System. Like many other comets, asteroids and planetoids, he has spent years there in the cloud called Oort. But in the end, it has fallen to the Sun and this visit has been devastating for the comet.

Comet Ison no longer exists. It has approached the Sun in a very elliptical orbit, and in perihelion, that is, at the closest point to the Sun, the force of the gravitational field of the star has diminished the comet. It reached this point on November 28, only a few miles from the Sun.To the point of touching the sun. And touching the Sun has serious consequences.

From Earth, thousands of telescopes have been observed to see the comet coming out of there. But they didn't see anything. Astronomers said that Comet Ison was lost forever.

But then, a miracle: (But then a miracle happened.)

On November 29, very high resolution telescopes observed a small piece of the comet leaving the Sun.

But it was a very small part, and it quickly lost its strength. From being a core part of the comet to dust and ice particles. It was confirmed on December 3rd. Comet Ison has been completely destroyed. It disappears destroyed by the sun. And now he won't stand his way, but he's left us beautiful images and a lot of data for astronomers.
