At a time when we spend much of the day looking at the screen, we are no longer content to see images in two dimensions. That’s why it has also reached the 3Da mobile screen. Here are two examples of similar characteristics: LG’s Optimus 3D and HTC’s EVO 3D.

both have a large 4.3-inch screen. It is autostereoscopic, that is, it sends a different image to each eye to achieve a sense of depth. It is best guessed with images that contain objects or people located on different planes. As we have already explained on other occasions, it is not possible to detect this effect at home, since the television camera has only one objective.

the 3D effect can be seen quite well, but the screen needs to be positioned at the right angle and distance, and the view gets tired quickly. It is also possible to play the contents in two dimensions or connect the phone to the TV, but in this case we will need special glasses.

Both models feature dual-lens cameras, each with a resolution of five megapixels. Similar to what our eyes do, the phone takes two simultaneous images and combines them to achieve a three-dimensional effect.

Considering that there is still very little three-dimensional content on the market, being able to create your own photos and videos is not a bad option. Time will tell if having 3Da on mobile is just a whim, or a real trend.
