2025 is the inter-European year of quantum because an important anniversary has been celebrated in this field: two different developments of quantum mechanics were born 100 years ago, the matrix mechanics of Heissenberg and the undulating mechanics of Schrödinger. Both described the quantum world fairly, but both have strict philosophical implications, and differ in both. The world of physicists was divided in two.
