17. The two cultures
17. This Sunday we will have INAKI IRAZABALBEITIA with us, who has published a book called Dos Culturas. The book is a transcript of a lecture by the English scientist Charles Percy Snow, given in Cambridge in 1959. Snow proposed that scientists had one culture and humanists another, and that they were far from each other. We will study with INAKI whether these two cultures still exist today. at the end of 2007, we will look back to make a brief summary of what science provided that year. For this, EIDER CARTON, director of the Elhuyar Science and Technology Magazine, will help us. And by the way, he's going to introduce us to the January issue of the magazine. Finally, we will visit the company Vita Aidelos by the biologist IRATXE UGARTE. This company produces a series of kits for the study of biology. DNA, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, etc.: all available to students thanks to Vita Aidelos. And also at our disposal this week, here in the North Railway.
