Olatz Ortega Vidales on the democratization of science

Olatz Ortega Vidales was born in Bilbao in 1997. Science is working to be more democratic and inclusive. After studying Biology at the UPV/EHU, he moved to Sweden to work on the empowerment of LGTBIQ+ people and people with intellectual disabilities. He then studied the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Ecotoxicology at the UPV/EHU. He is currently working on the dissemination of science in society, such as the "Beware!" of the Plentzia Marine Station Don't crush me!" he is part of the research team of the inclusive citizen science project.

Ana Galarraga Aiestarán led the talk as part of the cycle "In the light of women scientists", in which Ortega not only explained her career, but also highlighted the importance of the participation of all kinds of people in science and presented projects with this objective.

The cycle is the result of a collaboration between Elhuyar and San Sebastian Culture.
