Visitors to the sokotarra can see unique trees and plants they have not seen anywhere else. And you will feel that you are in another world.

Sokotora is an archipelago located to the east of the horn of Africa, currently part of Yemen. The archipelago consists of four islands, but 95% of its surface is occupied by a single island (3,625 km 2), the main island that gives name to the archipelago.

It has desert climate, hot and dry. And the wind blows hard. Its great isolation from the continent and the harsh conditions of the island have greatly influenced its living beings. Thus, of the 835 plant species of the archipelago, 308 (37%) are endemic, that is, they do not live anywhere else in the world. One of them is the dragon blood tree ( Dracaena cinnabari). Its red sweat is the "blood of dragons", which since time immemorial has used various uses: medicine, dye, varnish...

It is also rich in birds. It has about 200 species, 10 endemic. And in the case of reptiles, from 31 to 28 can only be found in this archipelago. Sokotora is a world full of different lives, a treasure of biodiversity.
