Sardinia: mountain in the sea
Sardinia: mountain in the sea

"The mountain in the sea", described the German geographer Ratzel, the second largest island in Italy. He referred to the sardine. This marriage between mountain and sea has made the island a destination for many tourists.
Due to ancient volcanoes and the strength of the sea and the winds, the orography of Sardinia is hard, broken and spectacular.
The main island is surrounded by small islands, including those that make up the Maddalena archipelago, north of the main island. The islets of this archipelago are spectacular. There are granite formations and bays wanting to bathe. The archipelago is declared a national park, so it is free of construction attacks.

One of the most heard places in Maddalena National Park is Spiaggia Rosa, a pink beach. Its name comes from the color of the sand, since the fractions of coral, mask and granite give it a pink color.
