Plastic Guitar

To date, attempts to replace wooden guitars with other materials have failed, as it was not possible to imitate the resonance generated by wood. At most, plastic has been used as a component in electroacoustic models, since the sound failures of these instruments can be corrected by electronic manipulations.
However, designer Owain Pedley uses polycarbonate to make guitars. The surface of the guitar's sound box is formed by expanded polycarbonate with air bubbles, which allow obtaining the necessary resonance of the box. From behind, the box has unexpanded polycarbonate nerves, obtaining the necessary consistency.
The result is a sound very similar to wood. Polycarbonate guitars can also be extracted by injection. The union of fragments of wood guitars by hand requires a lot of work, while polycarbonate guitars can be performed in series in a relatively simple way.
