Black holes of medium weight
1999/06/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria
Astronomers have found another type of small mass black holes. The black holes that were known so far were due to the collapse of very high mass stars, but the new black holes found have only a mass of sun from 100 to 10,000, according to the measurements made.
Scientists from both institutions have discovered these black holes in spiral galaxies scattered throughout the universe and, because of their little weight, they believe they have arisen in some way that we still do not know. The measurements have been made using X-rays, which, due to the acceleration of particles and gases falling into the black hole, release energy in the form of X-rays, the only system for detecting black holes.
