Using polymers containing iron, they have managed to build a special container on a nanometric scale. The nanocontainer has a chemical "door" that controls by oxidation or reduction which molecules enter or leave it. Therefore, researchers say it is appropriate for medical, food and cosmetic uses, as well as for conducting chemical reactions. The nanocontainer has been developed at the Twente University of Holland.
