From 10 to 19 July, several companies from Euskal Herria in the electronic and computer fields visited Chile, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

This commercial outlet has been promoted by the Association of Electronic Industries of the Basque Country (EHIEE). President D. Xabier Agirre Bilbao (President of EHIEE) and D. Jose Antonio Fernandez Arroiabe (Daisalux, S. A. ), José Luis Ortiz (Arce Ibérica, S. A. ), Antonio José Otxoa (Bems, S. A. ), Iñaki Bilbao (Miesa), Luis Iruarrizaga (Duñaiturria and Estancona, S. A. ) and Fco. The group has been composed by Javier Cáceres, CEO of EHIEE.

Its objective has been to expand relations with the professional electronics sector of these three South American states (telecommunications, control and regulation of machines and processes, energy saving, systems engineering, automation, lighting, traffic control, highways, tolls, etc.) and potential end users.

During the trip of this group of merchants held in Santiago de Chile the SOFTEL trade fair and in Buenos Aires the INFOTELECOM. Therefore, these places have been suitable for expanding relationships.

Parallel to the conversations held with several businessmen from the nations visited, several presentations were made in the capitals of the three States. For this purpose it has had the collaboration of the Basque institutions of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina. As collaborators and promoters of these actions we must mention the Basque Government.

This commercial group is part of the Cooperation and Dissemination planning that EHIEE is developing in South America and Central America in the last two years. At the end of this year a similar group will be organized to go to Mexico.
