Cornell University in New York has designed a four-legged robot that knows the morphology of your body. It is able to detect the damage suffered by your body and model your movement model.
When animals get hurt, they change movements to adapt to the new situation, but if the machine and robot get spoiled by surprise, they are not able to respond properly. This robot does. For example, if you break a leg, the robot responds by changing the way you walk.
Sensors have been placed on the legs to analyze their movement and environment. From this information, he elaborates a virtual model of his body, which allows the robot to plan his movement at all times: the internal mechanism of the robot simulates 16 possible movements analyzing himself and his environment and determines which of them is the most suitable before moving.
