Photo of the week: rainbow in the desert


Agama impalearis is an animal of the genus Agama. You can change the color slightly to match the rock you’re resting on. It’s not as fast camouflage as a chameleon, but it’s effective.

Agama, in the morning, is dark to absorb heat quickly, while at midday she turns grayish to reflect the sun, and dominant males display blue colors in her throat.
