According to one theory, the present man, Homo sapiens, is born in Africa, from where it extends to the whole world. Genetic data reinforces this theory. However, others, based on anatomical studies, consider that some populations of Homo erectus evolved separately into Homo sapiens.

Now, researchers at the University of Cambridge have conducted a comprehensive genetic study and measured 4,666 fossil skulls. His conclusion has been clear: Homo sapiens, of unique origin, was born in sub-Saharan Africa.
