The railway is a reflection of the spirit of the time when it was built. it was built in 1896, during the height of romanticism and the exaltation of nature. It was in those years that people began to hear for the first time the stories that travelers told about the wonders of nature, waterfalls and glaciers. The appearance of the first tourists to the mountain in Switzerland encouraged the development of the region. This is how the railway project was born. The train starts its journey at an altitude of 2,000 meters and goes up to 3,500, to the Jungfraucoch station. It is the highest railway station in Europe.
