Sardinia: mountain in the sea
“Mountain in the sea”, this is how the German geographer Ratzel described the second largest island in Italy. I was talking about Sardinia. As a result of this marriage between the mountain and the sea, the island is often the destination of many tourists.
Due to the influence of the ancient volcanoes, and the strength of the sea and the winds, the orography of Sardinia is hard, broken, and spectacular.
The main island is surrounded by small islands, including the Maddalena archipelago, to the north of the main island. The islets of this archipelago are spectacular. There are huge formations of granite and bays that make you want to take a bath. The archipelago has been declared a national park and is therefore free from construction attacks.
One of the most overlooked places in Maddalena National Park is Spiaggia Rosa, a pink beach. Its name comes from the color of the sand, to which the fractions of coral, shells, and granite give a pink color.
