How did that stone move?

No one has ever seen them move. But the clues clearly show that they move. Between the states of California and Nevada, these rolling stones are located on Death Valley’s Racetrack Beach. Some of them are harcots that can be taken in the hand, while others are made of 300kg of stone. They only move once every two or three years; and according to the clues, some move straight, others change direction, and there are also groups of stones that move in parallel.

The movement cannot be explained by gravity; in fact, there are no slopes. Racetrack Playa is a plain that was once the bottom of a lake. Geologists have a different explanation. It is clear from the type of footprint that it occurs when the soil is wet. In fact, the most accepted hypothesis is that when the soil is wet and frozen, the rocks are moved by strong winds on this slippery soil.
