Spiders fleeing the floods

Millions of spiders escaped last year’s floods in Pakistan by climbing trees. About a fifth of the entire country was flooded, and in some places the water persisted for a long time. This is a photo taken six months later. Trees covered with spider nets. In addition, according to the British Department for International Development, in areas where spiders are found in trees, there are far fewer mosquitoes than you would expect with so much water and, as a result, less risk of spreading malaria. Tree spider nets seem to be effective traps against mosquitoes.
