Best fridge sound

Some music lovers claim that keeping the compact disc in the fridge for one night improves sound. The improvement seems more evident in classical music than in rock music.

However, understanding this phenomenon is simple. All compact disc reading devices have a reading error correction system. In case of failure, the system will extrapolate between the two correctly read values.

When the compact disc spends a few hours in the fridge, it seems that reading errors are multiplied by the formation of cracks. When a correction or extrapolation is performed, the sound signal is softened and improves the quality of classical music. And is that often the reproduction of the musical sound, as it is collected, does not get the best quality.
