A few years ago they discovered that ants of the genus Myrmica use not only pheromones, but also sounds to communicate with each other. And now, an expert at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Wallingford, England, has shown that sound is used since the pupa phase. Ants are born in the form of larvae and, like caterpillars to have butterfly, ants and other insects must pass a phase called pupa that becomes adult.
