Genetic map and then what?

2001/02/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

As genetic sequencing progresses, researchers accumulate another great work on the table. It is not enough to identify all the genes, it is necessary to identify the function of each of the proteins they generate.

Researchers at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Washington have developed the first map of yeast protein interactions networks. To do this, they have analyzed and collected 2,039 proteins and 2,709 interactions. Although they have recognized the existence of errors, they consider that they will serve for future more concrete investigations.
