For the first time, NASA is stepping back in its effort to send an open space team composed exclusively of women. Two women were to carry out this mission on March 29: Christina Koch and Anne McClain, NASA astronauts. However, NASA has just announced by warning that they are required to change the plan and will replace Anne McClain with Nick Hague. Reason: they do not have clothes suitable for two women.
On 22 March, Anne McClain and Nick Hague successfully completed a new departure from the International Space Station (ISS) to replace some batteries. At this departure, McClain saw that the mid-size suit was appropriate for him, but Koch also has the same size and on the ISS there is only one such size suit.
Therefore, we have not yet met the first team of women in an open space, although they announced otherwise.
