Since 1941 no copies of this giant fly were known. But five-year-old James Morris has just found what we have in the images next to his home in Dunedin, New Zealand. Exsul singularus is the rarest fly in the world. Little is known of him. Its length is unknown and only a few adult specimens have been analyzed. The best known is the size: It is about 5 cm.
